A dynamic initiative to provide teachers, museums, and artists with tools to build a community of engaged learners.
NEAL gives teachers strategies and support to work collaboratively and to deepen their classroom practice.
Using vivid arts experiences, students enter, question, understand and express their own views about the world around them.
NEAL reaches over 1,000 students per year with creative classroom lessons enriched by visiting artists and integrated museum visits.

Our annual Summer Institute introduces a cohort of teachers to The Performance Cycle framework. Hosted by our museum partners and led by professional facilitators, participants engage in active learning through each step of the process, culminating in a final performance. The Institute is one way that NEAL is creating partnerships between schools, museums, artists, and experts to train and support teachers to develop in students essential literacy and arts skills, and to document impact.
